Butterflies in Transition’s goal is to provide students who want to pursue their educational dreams at the college level, a place to live and grow in an environment which is safe and secure.

  • According to the State of New Jersey, the Foster Care Independence Act Pub.L. 106-169 (H.R. 3443) offers important help to young people transitioning from foster care. At risk youths who become wards of the state are guaranteed financial support for them to attend a state institution of higher learning to further their educational needs.
  • According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, within two to four years of exiting foster care, 25 percent of foster children experience homelessness.

Butterflies in Transition, Inc., offers a comprehensive range of services and resources, including daily monitoring, counseling services, and enforced daily living skills program (housekeeping, shopping, and cooking along with time and money management. A counselor available on site to help in addressing on-going social and mental problems.
